The Courtney & Wise Story

Courtney & Wise has its origins in 1954, with our founder, John Peters OAM, coming into the trade after being indentured for four years to Master Painter, Bob Ross. Applying the skills acquired under the tutelage of such a Master and with a total commitment to quality workmanship, John went on to establish Courtney & Wise, one of Sydney's premier home painting companies.

Today, the company is headed by John's son, Michael Peters who like his father, went through the same rigorous process to learn all practical and theoretical aspects of the painting and decorating trade. Proving that he was up to the extremely high standard set by his father, Michael received the prestigious NSW Apprentice of the Year Award upon his graduation from Sydney Technical College in 1981.

Past President and Vice-President of the Master Painters Association and currently chair of their Education and Training Committee, Michael continues to make an active contribution to the development and promotion of the painting profession.

With over 55 years of experience spread across two generations, we have made absolute customer satisfaction our signature by backing up operational excellence with superior craftsmanship.
